Project information
VR Evacuation is a "Simulation" type serious-game. With as goal to learn how to use vr to create an easy to play game suitable for people who dont understand technology. It is meant to teach players how to evacuate an office building safely.
Gameplay
The game starts by warning the player a tsunami is coming, and they need to follow the escape signs up. The player wins by reaching the end of the course and loses by performing dangerous actions or taking too much time.
The path the player has to follow consists of green "exit" signs, moving past objects safely without putting themselves at harms risk. avoiding actions like walking into loose ceiling tiles or making use of an elevator.
My part
For this project I made the elevator, making sure it opens, closes, makes sound and makes the player lose the game. I was also responsible for the randomisation a of openable doors with exit signs and boxes blocking those doors. I also had almost finished code for the lose screen with explaination of why the player lost. Sadly due to my laptop breaking I was unable to finish this in time for the deadline and we had to "kill our darlings".
